OUR PEOPLE

We have a staff of over 10 people with the majority being professionally qualified accountants. The principal of the firm is Alasdair Smart who has a Bachelor of Commerce degree (majoring in Accountancy) from the University of Newcastle, is a member of CPA Australia, is a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia, a registered Tax Agent and is also a Justice of the Peace. Alasdair has well over 20 years experience as an accountant to small and medium sized businesses.

 

Our staff have many years of experience in dealing with all types of businesses both in structure and industry type eg medical practices including allied health industries, service industries including registered clubs and cafes, large transport and freight logistics businesses, all the different trade types, large engineering businesses, real estate agencies, retail trade, agricultural enterprises and many more. We also have extensive experience in dealing with the taxation advantages of rental/investment property ownership including negative gearing strategies.

 

Our other professionally qualified and fully trained staff include: Lisa Everett, Alveen Kaminsky, Nina Briffa, Bradley McPherson, Todd Amos, Steven Brown. Most of these people have been with our firm for many years so you will get continuity of service with the one staff member, as well as being assured that they are fully trained and know what they are talking about.

 

Our Account Managers are Lisa Everett, Alveen Kaminsky and Nina Briffa. All of these people have extensive accounting and taxation experience and are all tertiary qualified. Upon joining our firm you will get to meet and work closely with one of these three. All three make the office work well due to their dedication and ability to get the job done right and in the most cost effective manner possible.

 

We have a new trainee accountant who has just started work with us. His name is Rory Smart. He is looking forward to really getting involved in all the different types of work that we do.

 

Our office manager is Lynne Jones. Lynne has been with the firm for many years and has been the Manager since she started. Lynne also attends to all our corporate secretarial matters as well as researching and advising on employment conditions, pay rates and the like for our business clients.

 

On our reception you will be warmly greeted by either Pam Crampton or Melanie Owens. As you will discover both are very personable and there to help you.

 

We also do considerable work with a large number of Self Managed Superannuation Funds (SMSF). We have staff members who have considerable knowledge in this very complex area so if you have any questions regarding your Superannuation Fund please give one of us a call and we will be very happy to help you. As a firm we can set up your own SMSF, attend to the annual year end requirements and help keep you on the right track as to how your Superannuation Fund needs to be administered.

 

Steven Brown looks after the bookkeeping requirements of any of our clients who require this service including our very successful introduction of Banklink for our clients. Steven is very experienced, as are all our staff, in the setup and operation of MYOB products. As we are a MYOB Professional Partner Firm we have an excellent understanding of the setup and operation of MYOB products. We also use Quicken and Quickbooks and are an Authorised Reseller of their products too.
